Privacy Policy

Chief of Tasks is a productivity service that helps you organize work, interact with the Chief assistant and, if you choose, receive text reminders. This policy explains the information used to provide those features.

Information we handle

Account details, such as your email address and sign-in identifiers.
Content you add, including tasks, projects, plans, preferences, chat messages, reminders, and documents.
Service metadata, such as feature usage, storage totals, error codes, security events, and recent activity dates.
If you enable texting, your verified phone number, consent history, delivery status, and messages exchanged with Chief.

How information is used

We use information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service; answer your requests; search only the documents connected to your account; deliver reminders you request; and comply with law. Chat messages, relevant conversation history, and supported workspace content may be sent to contracted AI infrastructure when needed to provide Chief's response.

Optional product usage analytics

When optional usage tracking is enabled, we record account-linked dates and counts for visits, foreground activity, and opens of supported productivity features. We also record broad device categories (mobile, tablet, or desktop), whether you use the browser or installed web app, and selected data-request loading times and outcome categories. Authorized site administrators can view these usage reports to improve the product and investigate reliability problems.

These analytics do not collect task titles, notes, messages, document contents, passwords, typed text, full URLs, search parameters, raw browser identifiers, precise location, or session recordings. Sensitive personal widgets, including sobriety, health, and Bible-reading activity, are excluded from this optional tracking. Analytics are sent to our own application and database, not to an advertising or session-replay service.

You can turn off optional tracking for each browser or installed app in Settings under “Help improve Chief of Tasks.” We also honor Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals for this optional tracking. A first-party preference stores your choice. Opting out stops new optional events; it does not remove earlier records or disable essential security, account, or service-delivery records. Analytics reports cover at most 90 days of events, and older events are removed by scheduled maintenance. Deleting your account also deletes its optional analytics events.

Chief data access

Chief automatically uses supported read-only sources within your own account: open to-dos, project summaries, day-planner blocks, habits, countdowns, scheduled Chief reminders, and uploaded PDF search when available. This applies to new and existing accounts and replaces the previous per-source permission settings. There are no source switches. Chief receives bounded snapshots and relevant search results, not an unrestricted account export. Secure Notes, passwords, and credentials are excluded. This access does not expose your workspace to other users, or enable texting or external integrations.

When you request a supported theme change or to-do edit, Chief can prepare a proposal. The exact change is shown for your confirmation before it is applied to your account. Preparing a proposal does not change your settings or tasks. Pending proposals and their outcomes are stored with encrypted details to support confirmation, retries, and expiry. Chief cannot change passwords, billing, or another account's data through this feature.

Teams and sharing

Team membership does not automatically expose your private workspace. You choose which projects to share with an accepted team. Accepted team members can view that shared content until it is unshared or their membership ends. A reminder sent to teammates becomes a separate in-app reminder for each recipient. Shared projects and documents are not included in a teammate's Chief document search unless we add a clear, separate permission for that feature in the future.

Service providers

We use specialized providers for hosting, databases, authentication, AI processing and, when enabled, text delivery. They process information on our behalf to provide those services. We may also disclose information when legally required or to protect users and the service.

Chief uses AI providers that agree not to use submitted prompts for model training. These providers may retain submitted data under their policies; zero data retention is not guaranteed. Hiding Chief only hides its launcher: it does not delete chat history or data already sent to providers. Simply opening the launcher does not send workspace context to an AI provider.

Mobile information

We do not sell mobile phone information. We do not share mobile phone information, text-message opt-in data, or consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We may share it with vendors that perform messaging services for us, solely to deliver the messages you requested and operate the program.

Your controls

You can disable texting in Settings or reply STOP. You may request access, correction, or deletion of your account information by emailing dominic@abraham.co. Some limited records may be retained for security, legal, billing, or consent-proof purposes. Content-free messaging receipt identifiers may be retained to prevent a provider webhook from being replayed after message content is deleted.

Security and changes

We use administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect your information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy as the product changes and will post the revised effective date here.
